At San Diego Culinary Institute, students study the Commis Method, which includes a logical series of courses that builds upon the previous. Students can select Commis de Cuisine or Commis de Patisserie, each a hands-on program that involves 80% hands-on kitchen work. Students study techniques in small groups — no class has more than 16 students — working side by side with experienced, professional chef instructors.

Career Services: Every student takes courses on career planning in which they learn tips for resume writing, interviewing, and portfolio development. After graduation, the career services staff meets with each student to assist in job searching.
